Switching CPAP or CGM Suppliers Is Easier Than You Think
If your current supplier is slow, out of stock, or no longer takes your insurance, you can move your supplies to Specialty Medical Equipment. We handle the benefits check, the prescriber paperwork, and the shipping schedule — and we confirm your coverage before anything ships.
Quick Answer
Tell us what equipment you use and who your prescriber is. Specialty Medical Equipment verifies your insurance benefits, coordinates any prescription paperwork with your prescriber's office, and ships your supplies on your plan's schedule. Your estimated cost is confirmed before anything ships — coverage is never guaranteed until verification is complete.
Common reasons people switch to us
Your current supplier is slow to answer or ship
You moved or your insurance plan changed
Your supplier stopped carrying your device or sensors
You want automated resupply reminders instead of calling every month
You were affected by the Dexcom G6 discontinuation and need G7 supplies
How switching works
Step 1
Tell us what you use
Call or send the short coverage form with your current equipment, your insurance, and your prescriber. You do not need to gather paperwork first — we tell you exactly what is needed for your plan.
Step 2
We verify your benefits
Our intake team checks your coverage with your insurance plan before anything ships. You hear your estimated out-of-pocket cost up front — no surprises after delivery.
Step 3
We coordinate the prescription
Supplies require a current prescription. With your permission we contact your prescriber’s office directly to get what your plan requires, so you are not chasing faxes.
Step 4
Supplies ship on schedule
Once coverage is verified and documentation is complete, your supplies ship to your door and your resupply schedule continues without a gap.

Switching your CGM supplies
- Dexcom stopped manufacturing the G6 on July 1, 2026. If you are still on G6, ask your prescriber about moving to the G7 — we can verify your coverage for the switch.
- Medicare covers a CGM only when the durable receiver is used to display your readings. A phone app alone is not enough — we include the receiver when your plan requires it.
- Sensor shipments follow your plan’s replacement schedule (every 30 or 90 days). We align your first shipment so you do not run out.
Switching your CPAP supplies
- Masks, cushions, tubing, and filters all have insurance replacement schedules. We pick up your schedule where your old supplier left off.
- If your plan requires proof of ongoing CPAP use for a new machine, we coordinate with your prescriber to document it.
- Keep your current machine — switching suppliers changes who ships your supplies, not your equipment or your therapy settings.
Switching suppliers: common questions
Coverage and costs depend on your insurance plan, your diagnosis, and your prescription, and must be verified before any supplies ship. Nothing on this page guarantees coverage or a specific price.
